Chairman and Non-Executive Director
Mr. Chong is Chairman of the VMS Group with responsibility for overall corporate strategy as well as formulating and executing the Company’s business development strategies.
After more than 20 years in investment banking, including positions at HSBC, BofA Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs, Mr. Chong is the founding member of VMS Group in 2006. Specializing in both domestic and overseas investments, he has a wealth of experience in domestic and international asset management.
Mr. Chong is a Chartered Financial Analyst with the Association for Investment Management and Research (now known as the CFA). He also holds a Master of Science in Investment Management from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
Co-Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Tai is a Co-Chief Executive Officer of VMS Securities Group, responsible for the strategic directions and developments of VMS Securities Group in various capital markets.
Mr. Tai has over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and capital markets, Mr. Tai specializes in Initial Public Offerings, mergers & acquisitions, Takeovers Code matters, privatization, new issues and fund raising for private and listed companies.
Prior to joining VMS Group, Mr. Tai was the Managing Director, Head of Corporate Finance in Investec Capital Asia Limited,. an international banking group with strong asset management capabilities. At Investec, he was responsible for the overall management of corporate finance business in Hong Kong and China. Mr. Tai was also an executive director of Standard Chartered (Asia) Limited.
Mr. Tai is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a committee member of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference in Shandong Province. Mr. Tai graduated from the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration degree.
Co-Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Morton is a Co-Chief Executive Officer of VMS Securities Group, overseeing the Company’s business.
He has more than 20 years of investment banking experience in Asia and Latin America, as well as an extensive background in equities, fixed income, advisory, and risk management. Prior to his career in investment banking, he worked in corporate operations and private equity in Australia, the UK, Canada and France. Mr. Morton also held senior investment banking roles with Deutsche Bank and JP Morgan before joining the VMS Group in early 2016.
Mr. Morton is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of New South Wales.
